'OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF BABES' - SUPPORT OUR OSCAR & BAFTA CAMPAIGNS FOR YOUNG PLATO

Young Plato

Thinking Changes will introduce youths from
20 Northern Irish and 20 Republic of Ireland youth groups/schools to the
transformative power of philosophy and restorative justice in dealing with legacies of violence and conflict.
Cross-community groups will watch ‘Young Plato’ together and participate in post screening philosophical enquiries and youth group/school projects to engage in dialogue, build relationships and overcome barriers to peace.

Beyond the Screen

We're developing:
● Training for youth and community workers / teachers
introducing Philosophy 4 Children (accredited by UCD)
● 10 short films from Young Plato that will make the
issues come alive for young people.
● a multimedia tool kit for youth clubs, community
groups and schools adapted for different age groups.
Drawing from stories in the film, the guide will focus on key
areas where philosophical enquiry can make a difference:
● Teaching critical thinking to young people
● Conflict resolution, violence prevention and managing
discipline amongst youth
● Helping parents to actively engage their children
